When you don't make your money from normal market forces. Microsoft pays Square-Enix reduce their sales on PS3. Think about it....
Microsoft went to SE and said,...
Microsoft: "you have a game that you are making for the PS3."
SE: "yeah FFXIII, it is going to be great, and loved by all manner of gamers, both old and new, from the east and the west.
M$: "Yeah about that 'from the West' part we want you to make if for us...
EVERY major Xbox 360 game gets more hype than this. Microsoft is the hype master. If Sony should learn anything from Microsoft, that one thing is how to hype-up a game. As of today (Jan. 12, 2009), Killzone 2 is about 7 weeks away from its release date (Feb. 27, 2009). If Killzone 2 was owned by Microsoft Game Studios, it would have 40 reviews already released by now.
I don't think that will affect its sales. The Nintendo Wii has been technologically outdated sense its release date and it is selling like hotcakes.
But maybe I'm wrong; the X360 does have a more hardcore crowd than the Wii.
There was just too much competition for me to buy it. This article mentions Xbox Live and I am a PS3 user. Still Mirror's Edge was multiplat so here is my 2 cents.
I downloaded the demo and did NOT buy the game. I want to NOTE THE FACT THAT I THOUGHT THE DEMO WAS VERY, VERY GOOD. However, the game released within a few weeks of 1)Valkyria Chronicles; 2) Resistance 2; and 3)Fallout 3. On the 360 side, I think Gears 2 released around the same as well.
Mirror's...
PS3 released in November 2006.
From November 2006 to November 2007 is 1 year.
From November 2007 to November 2008 is 1 year,
From November 2008 to January 05, 2009 is about 2 months, give or take a few days to account for the actual release date.
That is 2 years, not 3 years.
Surely you aren't insulting the Dual-Shock controller.
The PS3 has accepted both USB and Bluetooth keyboards from the launch. In addition to that you can use the controller with the on-screen keyboard.
If he needed a keyboard that bad he should have went to the store and bought one already.
Unless you own the company it doesn't matter to you how much one game sells. At least, it doesn't matter beyond the effect that sales have on the likelihood of the company making a sequel to a game that you like.
Sometimes I think we take this so-called "Console War" far to seriously.
An Xbox 360 will scratch a game disc if the console is never moved at all. My cousin has a X360. He swears by it. He treats his 360 like it is made of gold. It scratches all his discs. He knows it scratches all of his discs, why else would they all be scratched. It has even scratched one of my original Xbox games (I play KOTOR on his system one time and there is one light ring scratched into the disc about 1/3 of the way from the outer edge. He simply doesn't care that the 360 scratches...
...says that Sony can't keep undercutting the price of their players with their PS3. If I had to guess I would say that that has something to do with why Sony hasn't cut the PS3 to $299. Blu-ray players cost about $299, but an ordinary player can't compete with a PS3 if the prices are the same. It would therefore behoove the makers of Blu-ray players to say to Sony "quit undercutting our sales by selling your PS3 at a loss or you will force us to stop making blu-ray players." ...
That's why we have to help his family and give that prick life without the possibility of parole. He must never be allow to live in the same house with his family again. A person that will murder his mom while she isn't looking will kill anyone. I can't believe that the prosecutors are NOT EVEN ASKING for the death penalty. It smacks of bias to me.
The sales are the result of absolutely ZERO marketing. It hasn't even gotten a lot of reviews.
Price, Price, Price, Price, Price.
Oh Yeah, The November PS3 sales are all about price.
Price, Price, Price, Price, Price.....
P.S.
Did I mention the Price?
People play Stars Wars games to pretend to be an all-powerful Jedi or Sith Lord. You can't be either if every one you encounter is a Jedi/Sith that is as strong as you are.
I really would like just a simple KOTOR sequel. Hell, I would even settle for a prequel.
The PS3 needs a price cut, pure and simple
Nothing can communicate this idea like looking at a Best Buy salespaper and seeing an ad for the 360 on sale for $199 and on the same page an add for the PS3 for $399. It is amazing that it sells any units at THAT price in THIS economy.
Evilmonkey, what does "mimo" mean?
There is no way the average 20GB 360 owner can afford to spend that much space on an install. Especially so when Halo 3 is NOT one of the games that benefits from an install.
I don't think this feature will be used very much by 20GB 360 owners. But the new 60GB and Elite owners my put it to use though.
Even if it is a very minor spoiler like the number of chapters, it still takes something away from the game.
The depth of the gameplay. Resistance 2 has two, that "2" campaigns. One single-player campaign and a completely separate campaign specifically designed to play along with your friends, online or offline.
That will never happen. FFXIII is being nerfed as we speak. If I were a gambling man I would be will to bet that when FFXIII releases on 360 it will 4 discs maximum, and weigh in at about 12-15GB, and a about 10GB less than Versus will weigh.
